It's an interesting problem. This week I have had two DOT drivers (weight lifters/body builders) who have eleveated BMI's > 35 with increase neck circumference; with little to no signs of obesity, hypertension or daytime sleepiness (normal reported Epworth's) who indicated their companies wanted sleep studies because of increased BMI's!! I cannot order a sleep study that is NOT warranted clinically especially when the driver has to pay for them.

It's a shame that regulations can be put in place without regard to common sense
