What does a dry van load Pay from Houston To Laredo or Houston to Dallas w/Landstar?

    Trying to get an idea of revenue prior to making the move onto Landstar... Any info. is greatly appreciated.:biggrin_25526:

    $1.00 to $1.15 a mile and they think that they are doing you a favor at that rate.....Rates are cheap in Texas, the freight is almost non-exsistant in Houston and down in Laredo , there is more trucks than freight so it is very cheap out of there.

    Freight is only cheap because someone will haul it for that price. Stop hauling cheap and the prices will be forced upwards.

    Thank You, We are currently with Schneider moving Port Containers to Laredo, Dallas, San Antonio and it pays mileage $1 loaded and .87 empty. So that sounds about right. I am starting to realize that the rate is similar throughout Texas. One thing I don't understand is that they are not paying for the extra trip to the port, thus after taking a load down to Laredo bringing it back driving 12/13 hrs at times still has to deal with the hustle and bustle of the ports (take container back).
