I have seen and been around MTS (Martin Transport Service) for quite a long time. I see them every day. I used to do a lot of automotive myself, specifically Ford Kansas City. I think MTS has a lot to do with that nowadays. I have not heard any bad about MTS, but I haven't really talked in detail with their drivers. Automotive has it's own unique positives and negatives about it. While the pay per mile that MTS is paying may not be the best, there is more to the equation than per mile. Most of the automotive stuff is dedicated and steady. So while the rate per mile may not be eye opening, the paycheck actually may be good, especially if they are compensating for any delay stuff. Check them out, ask a lot of questions about what they are doing, and see if it works for you.

Have talked to them a few times. The pay is just not there, so I just stay with my grocery hauling job.

The only really good pay I've seen so far in the automotive hauling sector is in hauling cars. The downside is that carhauling comes with a set of headaches that are unique to that type of work and, sometimes, they are enough to make you think seriously about taking a pay cut and going back to dry van. Especially when dealing with pov's.
