For the record I do not drink nor do I do drugs. However for years I've lived with a siblings who do smoke pot and now I'm worried that if I get a driving job my hair will not pass a hair drug test.

So my question is simple: when you get hired on these days and go to orientation, do they only do pee tests or do they do both hair and pee?

Anyone know what companies only do pee tests at orientation? I don't want to jeopardize my license due to my hair not passing.

    Thank you in advance.

far as i know, Swift/ JB hunt/ Knight/ Cr England/ Rhoel all hair test on random. but if u never smoked, or have not sat in a room completly filled with smoke, 99% sure your fine, the smoke just doesnt stick to your hair, it doesnt work like that.

some do one some do the other some do both. But the fact is junior is that the only ones who ask these questions day after day are the ones using. Either stop using or stay on the couch

If you have doubts I would stay away from companies that hair test rather than risk a positive drug test.

Also they have these things called doors that you can walk out of if you don't want to be around drug use.

There are not a lot of companies that do the hair test due to cost and the fact that hair testing is not required or recognized by the feds. Prehire urine testing is required so they all must do it. Do a search of this forum and you will see that drug testing is a much discussed topic. P.s. if you plan on driving for a living, don't live with your siblings. Good luck.

I was dead serious when I said I have never taken drugs. I know I'm a freak but it is what it is.

For the record I am a female with long hair down to my waist, so shaving my head is not an option. I have NO FEAR of pee or blood tests, hell they can have all they want, but yes I'm worried about the hair tests and jeopardizing a license.

Which is why I asked the question. I'm trying to get the cash together to go to school and get the hell outta here, but when it comes to looking for a company to sign up with I just figured that if I knew beforehand what companies do HAIR and pee I will avoid them.

Again thank you to anyone with any information.

A standard follicle test really only goes back "about" 90 days. There is a routine they follow. Even with very long hair they don't test the whole length of hair. Only the first inch and a half or so at the scalp.
