If you have nothing to hide, you will be fine. The drugs get into your hair from the inside out, not sitting on the couch next to the X-box with cheeto-fingered stoners. However, someone so squeaky clean doesn't usually hang with users for any extended period of time...unless your perception of time has been altered...hmm?:biggrin_25525: All kidding aside, just about every company is testing hair these days. Good luck!

I have friends that 'smoke' at first they thought I just didn't wanna be around them now they understand. If were hangin out and they deside to fire up we usually go outside now so we can carry on but without a chance ill get contact. Whether its true contact doesn't show up idk and so far I've always tested clean.

If we are to believe that second hand cigarette moke is just as bad to a person who doesn't smoke cigarettes, then what stops THC from entering the body from second hand pot smoke?
While I dont believe that someone who never smokes pot will be a victim of a one time second hand pot smoke exposure, she stated that she lives with her kids that smokes so she is living in a house that may have a pot smoker daily. And I bet odds are she tough them how to roll a tight fatty. Just a guess

I want to thank the admins for this forum. As a female who is considering truck driving as a new career, this board has a lot of information in helping me make this life changing decision. I don't think truck driving would ever have crossed my mind in the first place, but unemployment is high here and jobs are very limited or at minimum wage.

I also want to thank the drivers who kindly responded to my question without judgment. I have noted the companies specifically mentioned.

As for those of you who figure I'm really just a drug addict and should therefore stay at home and on the couch, well let's just say that I knew that there would be some attacks just like there have been on other threads. I get it, I really I do, there is no denying that there is a drug problem in this country, and I certainly don't want these addicts behind the wheel of any vehicle - especially a big rig - even if I'm not on the road at the same time.

But I have no way of proving to anyone that the information that I posted is true or not - no I'm not rolling joints for my brothers while I'm watching TV and typing this post - but it does not really matter if you guys had already have made up your mind anyway. For what it is worth, living at home is not by choice but due to a long string of circumstances beyond my control, and most of them have been thanks to this economy that sucks and has impacted all of us in one way or another.

But all things considering, I refer to this time of my life as a "character building time". I'm saying I still have a positive attitude that things happen for a reason and yes I'm seriously considering driving a truck.

For the record the reason my first question was about drug use was because I read here on the forum where someone casually posted their experience at Knight orientation and having to take a hair and urine test. Until that time I did not think passing a drug test was going to be problem whatsoever, after all I'm sure I can pee in a cup any day of the week.

Again thanks for all the responses, and in the future please give first time posters the benefit of the doubt. This forum is truly a great resource, for both newbies and yes even the old guys with many miles under their belt.

search this forum for hair test , hair follicle test & similar titles; & then get on wiki & look up hair follicle test (or google) you will see that in fact it dose show up in hair frm the inside out; the contact part & weather daily exposure will effect a non-smoker will be mostly opinion.

I am not sure if a per-hire non DOT hair test can show up on yer DAC or not(?) as neither the DOT or fed regs, recognize them. DRIVERS?

Seeing you can not financially leave your living situation until you go for orientation, I understand the fear that not being able to get away for 90days may cause you to fail.

If you know you are clean, do some research maybe even seek the answer from a doc.
    I think you will be good, the reason is the levels;
A daily smoker, your brother for example, if he were to quit & get clean for 30days to pass a UA but would fail a hair test. 1) hair test go back 90days, can go back fruther but it gets much more expensive 2) his levels or microns or wateve measurement they use as a cut off will be way over the set limit. Note if he smokes more than once daily with little exercise it is possible he could fail the UA because of exceeding the cutoff levels of the UA.

Now Those same measurement levels the labs use as a cutoff are diff from a UA to a hair follicle to a blood test al have different CUTOFF LEVELS>>>>the diff from a pass & fail.

Ok so if you are still on my train of thought & not jumped tracks.

If YOU HAVEN'T NEVER SMOKED OR HAVEN'T SMOKED IN 90- 100 DAYS you will not reach the level of a "positive", unless you actually happen to have smoked.

    Kidro Thanks this.
