Guys, because my customers are pushing me, I have decided to be ELD compliant ahead of the December deadline. This is my shortlist.

Why are your customers pushing you? What interest is it of theirs as long as you move their products in a timely fashion?

I suggested to the admins of this site to make this a dedicated section, in the Electronics area. Lots of guys like you are going to ask the same question. Our 250 truck fleet just started using JJ Keller Mobile. Totally underwhelmed. According to HDT trucking there are 25 or more companies that are selling systems. Try and pick one that will still be in business a year from now(crystal ball required). Most of these outfits are going to go under. If I were buying one for 1 man one truck I would look at the VDO system, sold by Ryder Fleet parts. Totally self contained with a printer.

I suspect the customers, who are pretty far down on the food chain are thinking they will be involved in some sort of liability if they use a carrier that doesn't have ELD equipped trucks. Something they might have read in the trades. There is more mis-information out there about this change than you can keep track of.

You are missing many many more other manufactures... can you list why these are on your short list and not the others?

Friend of mine company uses xrs with tablets. Seems to work okay. I will look to that route come d-day. Still optimistic it will get shot down somehow.

You are right that there are many more. Actually, it is overwhelming how many folks are now selling some sort of electronic logging and ELD-compliant package. These are the companies that show up more often and the price is within my affordability range.

Not gonna worry about it... 93 keeps me away for now.

I too like the looks of VDO Road log for single trucks. Under $500 and no monthly fees unless you want cloud features.

Of course I am, wouldn't think of bending any rules.

    Still doesn't answer my question.
