There is a casino in cali off of I-8 that has a good deal on prime rib. I can't think of what exit it is right now.
slow.rider Thanks this. -

I haven't been there in about ten years, but I checked online and they're still there.......
Scotty's Restaurant in the Wilton Travel Plaza, Exit 16 (Ballard Road) off the I-87 Northway, Gansevoort, NY.
Family owned, good food, good service. There's a sign in the door that says "No buses", and goes on to say they can't accommodate a busload of people in the restaurant, because it would displace the seats available for truckers.
One of the last few old-school truck stops. Please show 'em some support if you're passing thru. Take the time to set-n-eat, you will be glad you did.Last edited: Aug 14, 2017

Been a while but I-55 exit 19 in MO. Right next to pilot I think it's called Double Nickel. Really good, and reasonable BBQ.
slow.rider and Getsinyourblood Thank this. -
Homeskillet I couldn't agree with you more. This truly is one of the best truck stops anywhere especially in NY State. I have always felt appreciated here by the staff, the food was excellent and plenty of parking. They surely deserve our business and continued patronage.slow.rider and homeskillet Thank this.

They forgot ... food is pretty mediocre.

Grammas Kitchen - exit 284 off I-80 in Walcott, IA. It's right across from the Iowa 80 truck stop. Great food and service.
slow.rider Thanks this. -
I could be going out on a limb here. Because this was way back in 2001 when I was in truck driving school.
But there was or is a place call Buckners at exit 201 off I-75 in GA on the west side of the hiway. A little ways past the flying J. They were good back then. But I'm not sure if they are still around. It's been 15 yrs since I last ate thereslow.rider and bulldawg trucker Thank this. -
10 miles from home. Haven't eaten there in a couple years but the food was always great. Main reason we haven't eaten there is because you have to go with a group or sit at the lazy Susan with strangers. Not always a bad thing but usually if it's just me and the wife we, well that wouldn't make for very good date time. I think the round table lazy Susan holds about 10 people and they always keep the dishes full. Pretty neat place.slow.rider Thanks this.
