Nah the lease was up on the yard we had to store the seat. So it had to go back in. I don't do anything to the truck. Or alter it. They took the seat out.

Yeah that would be worth it for a built in cabinet fridge. The one that's the OEM in my truck is tiny.
If I was to buy another truck. (Not planning on it.) I would get a fridge like that.

I've used different kind of fridge freezers from Truckfridge.com for many years and they're top notch, but not cheap...I never expected them to be cheap anyway, but they're durable and do a good job. There are also plenty of choices if you look on Amazon and probably most of them are AC/DC...so you can plug them into an inverter or directly into a 12V socket. The one thing I'd advise is to package and freeze your food before you put it into your portable freezer.
As I have a 20 Western Star 5700 XE it came with an installed DC fridge from NovaCool 2.1 CuFt and does a good job too. I stop using those junky 12V thermoCoolers you buy at TS years ago...They're not meant for keeping food cool or to be frozen. Totally worthless IMHO.

A 12v fridge freezer doesn't use much power at all. They have a compressor. So they cycle off and on as needed. A Danfoss/Secop BD35F will draw around 60-65w max/high mode. On the eco/low mode even less. Most of the Chinese knockoff fridges use a facsimile of a Danfoss/Secop compressor. And will be a two speed design. The Danfoss/Secop compressors are known to be super well balanced. Meaning they don't beat themselves up. But I have friends with cheaper Alpicool's and Setpowers that are doing good. There's a ton that goes into these things. That make some better than others.

Your tier one stuff is going to be Engels, Snomasters and National Luna. They are better insulated. Better cooling systems. These are true expedition fridges.

Tier two is your Dometic, Truma, Norcold, and ARB.

Tier three is Indel B, Whynter and Iceco stuff running Secops. Edgestar/Whynter were the first to copy the Danfoss/Secop compressors.

And then theres everything else. With varying degrees of quality. I think as truck drivers these work due to the fact they live a sheltered existence in the cab of a truck. Or for van lifers.

I'm running a BougeRV ~50qt, off Amazon ~$300. Ordered because of size, it's narrow enough to fit between seats and still have room to get to bunk. The space between the seats and bunk is already used for storage cabinets. Joys of having a small bunk on a carhauler.

I don't cook in the truck, i just use it as a fridge, but it will freeze if needed. As a fridge, it will run for 3 or 4 days on eco before the battery protection turns it off. Currently at 2 years with no issues.
