It will also depend on your driving habits and speed.
I bobtailed once and fueled at great falls MT and refueled at Anchorage Alaska, lots of mountains, but both the Canadian and Alaskan speed limits are slow. My S 60 got me 11.25 in real numbers.
I bobtailed from New Mexico to Florida, no hills but running a solid 75 most of the time and got a hair over 10.
Pulling an empty flat or a load with very little wind resistance would get close to 9 sometimes, depending on the terrain and my foot.Captain Mudsocks and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
+9 mpg empty 53 dryvan flat road, above freezing temps, mild wind, 62-65 mph
7-8 mpg during winter, or windy; wind can mess up the fuel economy worst than weight.Captain Mudsocks and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
The wind is the worst. A lot of times the wind will die down some after dark, there has been many of times over the years I have shut down and waited till dark to run just because of fuel mileage. Another reason I would not like the eld mandate, just another option it could put a damper on.
D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
There's a new one brokers could use.. "drive at night, you'll get better fuel mileage" - somehow making this cheapo load a good idea for you
Right up there with "it only weighs 2k pounds" or "easy on easy off!"
...lolRideandrepair, D.Tibbitt, Ruthless and 1 other person Thank this. -
Captain Mudsocks, Rideandrepair, D.Tibbitt and 2 others Thank this.

Depends on how fast your going... In the words of Prime we get 10 mpg... but they also do 58 mph everywhere they go.
I get about 6 mpg, but I also do 75 mph tooRideandrepair and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
All 3 trucks 12.7 Detroit 60 series and above 2 million miles. 65mph.

That can't be right, you need to recheck your figures, no way can a W9 get as good as them funny looking freight shakers. lol
