What gear ratio is generally used for hauling a D11 bulldozer?

I'm not sure, but it might have been the 36 or 34 A that used diesel fuel in the torque converter. I never ran one, but a good friend of mine that I used to work with did, and he said they were great in the winter but would cook your ### in the summer as hot as the fuel was with the tank as a back rest.

They were a few around in my country on farms several years ago. What’s changed idk but all I see now looks new on the farm. With leasing and rental though that may be a cheaper option for their projects

I wonder what RPMs it would be at when reaching top speed.

I know the first D 10 went to Colorado and the second one went to the rock quarry just north of San Antonio.
    Loaded on 4 trucks.

The very first D10s were prototypes, one of which now resides outside the assembly plant in Peoria. At least some of the prototypes spent time at the proving grounds in Arizona. I have no knowledge as to how they were moved, and realize that that is not the first one that was sold.

The first one that I saw being hauled was missing the dozer, cab, rippers, and every other track pad.

The first D10s we're considerably heavier than current 10s at around 180,000 lbs. fully dressed. They were scaled down to around 145,000 lbs. about the time the 11s came out.

It has a 4 speed Auxiliary
I haven’t driven it much but In 4th at around 60 its probably around 1900
It’s the truck you need for anything over 200k

we have some 4.56 trucks with a lot of power but they still don’t pull hills very good

This is how D10’s are moved from the factory - sometimes with the can and sometimes without.

Thanks moved this one from IL to CA - grossed between 190k and 195k

A lot of the D11s are moved for export through Savannah and usually look like the machine above. (Only bigger) and go like 160-165k and are usually 13 axle loads

Oxbow, Cat sdp and black_dog106 Thank this.
