I know changing a DEF filter is a great way to find out if you have any cuts on your hand or forearm that you weren't previously aware of.
Anyhow, I'm not aware of any UN number or hazmat classification of it, either. We keep a tank for our drivers to fill up with right outside the shop door, it's just a plastic tank inside a light frame made of stainless steel tubing. Same type I bin I used to take to the sand pits with the flat & fork when I was with Pioneer for the various fluids they used... none of those had hazmat labeling, either.unloader Thanks this. -
Def is basically urea. It's not a hazmat. I've hauled urea before.

I forgot to till it. What's happens?
--------------------------------------------
Forgetting to till during the planting season could have detrimental consequences,up to and inclusive of the intended crop not growing.Birds and squirrels feast on the seed as it lays on top of the ground.
DEF,as i have been advised over the cb radio, can be easily replaced with urine.the results will be the same.

I've seen engine derates as a result of the sensors detecting unacceptable purity levels in the DEF tank... I've yet to see a driver admit they pissed in the DEF tank.
I don't want to make it out to be something I see all the time... I've seen it twice and never could be 100% certain of the cause.
Our Cummins and Kenworth reps reported having seen it quite a bit.
I have been asked the question of our drivers of what would happen if they just pissed in the DEF tank, I've been asked what would happen if they just used diesel fuel in the DEF tank (I should probably refer them here in that instance), etc.
As for what happens to the drivers, I don't know. That's all out of my hands. I just report that we cleaned the tank and lines... I don't put down what it was we cleaned out, because I can't say definitively, "yeah, this guy took a piss in the DEF tank". Bad batches of DEF aren't unheard of. -
