Very disappointing month for us too :( I am making next to nothing. Last year at this time I didn't have to take anything for less than $3/mile. I am really hoping it will change soon but it seems unlikely.

The fake economic growth caught up to us. And it doesn't help its an election year so industry is on cruise control idling along till they see who gets in the white house. the economy always stagnates about may in every election year, and especially so when it's following a two term president so guaranteed change.

Midwest is terrible with available freight (dry van or reefer), Iowa-Nebraska,Minnesota, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio are probably the worst. I've seen that prices and number of loads keep dropping down since January, and it will get worse, till a week or two ago we had: Atlanta , Texas, Florida, South Carolina as a good states with a decent number of loads, now their number of loads are declining for up to 50%. East Coast: York, PA radius 100 miles there was a ton of loads, since a week ago only 50-100 loads posted. I hope that this industry will change soon, otherwise it will be hard to survive in trucking.

There are still good loads out there, and still good money to be made. It just isn't as easy as it used to be. I'm doing just as good as last year, I'm just having to do things a little differently to make It work. The trick I'm finding is to stay booked up. Don't wait till you are a day from delivery to book the next load. Get it booked a week in advance, or more.

Well in the open deck world we make our money in the warm months. If it stays this way all summer I wonder if we won't see a lot of carrier failures this winter.

    Carrier Thanks this.
