What happened to smoke stacks?

    The same could be said for buying any truck with the emissions junk on it. While u might save on fuel, you'll have spent the savings on downtime and repairs.

    And I don't mean rolling coal like thess morons in their pickup trucks trying to be cool. Yeah I know it's money out the pipes, but who cares? If a person can afford it, then why not enjoy it?

    You still need to change the oil. This extended service nonsense is just that, nonsense. That soot just rolls through the motor, bearings, etc. And the internal tolerances in these new EPA motors are extremely high, not something I want soot accumulating in. Then we have the additive package, that breaks down and you lose that function of the oil. I have to much invested in my motor to abuse it like that. And it is funny, I can tell when I need an oil change just by the way the motor is running. Even the smell of the oil is different and it goes from honey brown to black. Usually right around that 10,000 mile mark.
    My oil stays honey brown up to and around 10,000 miles or there about. This was a previous emission motor. Prior to fixing the truck, the oil was black the second we started the freshly serviced motor in the service bay. That is how much soot is trapped in these motors. It took two or three services to wash this soot out after eliminating the EPA mandate. Now, oil stays clean, is able to do its job and I am happy. Still changing oil at 12,000 to 15,000 miles.

    That 365 number doesn't hit while shifting. It hits climbing the hills. Between 1700 - 1800. Or when you're in the top gear gaining freeway speed.

    330 was usually the number in the top gears. Around 275 in the lower gears.

    I have to laugh at the weight savings excuse :D
    Then they put a 400 pound driver in the cab along with another 1000 pounds of stuff like refrigerators microwaves and tv’s etc.

    That’s a good looking t800. Im getting ready to move into my new truck soon. This is how it was delivered to the dealer, they still have to put some more shinny bits on.

    I stand corrected. I know soot comes in to play. How much probably depends on the engine condition.

    My truck turns brown and gets changed around 10k. It don't smoke.

    We have a truck you can always tell when driver shifts gears. It smokes BAD. That oil goes black. The turbo is lazy. Takes a second to start spooling up after gear shift.

    The only way you will ever get a scan gauge to accurately report hp is if you calibrate it with the truck on a dyno.

    That's why turnouts and rain caps came to be. Ever notice most older farm tractors had the exhaust straight up? Lots of tractors set for weeks outside in the rain, and that's straight into the manifold. But one company was smart enough to think about that, as far as tractors go.
    J.I. Case, they built the manifold with a weep hole to allow water to drain out, just in case.

    And I'm thinking about a weed burner exhaust pushing through flood waters lol, always that chance.......

    They think solar and wind will produce all our juice, they never look at what actually goes into making wind turbines and solar panels
