What happens if I roll a frameless dump

I considered myself an OTR driver, it is really all I ever did. However I did do some local driving. Working for 3 different ready mix companies doing all kinds of driving work. However when it comes to operating dumps I have did it.

 

Not a dump trailer but I have plenty of experience in a rock truck (articulated dump) in blue stone quarries. If you don't have 2 left hands its not rocket science man

I'm not talking about big flat quarries either, not a bit of flat land in northeast pa.

 

Most normal situations no it won't.

 

Just take it easy and you should be OK. I'm not going to rehash the comments made. However don't do anything you feel unease doing. Just way too many driving jobs out there to do something incredibly boneheaded. Remember the center of gravity for that trailer is almost 20 feet off the ground. The tractor CG is not part of this. Once they start moving in most situations you can't get it down quick enough!

 

Don't pay attention to people that have anything negative to say.

The only thing that matters is that your boss has faith in you and that says something about you.

Just be careful and you will be fine.

 

The short answer to your question is no. Your license will be fine. Incidents on private property are dealt with differently in my experience anyways. The other thing to remember is the customer has a payloader for a reason! Don't dump where you don't feel comfortable. They might ##### and moan but point out that its easier to move the pile than have to deal with the mess of a turned over trailer. Fwiw l've pulled dumps off and on over the years and my last dump job was hauling scrap. Watching the frameless guys dump always looked sketchy to me but to a man all those guys swore up and down that frameless were safer than frame type. Those guys were all 20 year guys. Who am l to argue with them?lol

 

Worst case you will snap your back and possibly neck.

 

Yes, thank you. I forgot to add this. I know 2 drivers on disability today from backs damaged while driving those things.

 

Don't be scared heck I pull a frameless running into a landfill nothing level!Rule of thumb if the piston is against one of the notches stop and move.
