You have a solid grasp of the basics. The company I lease with doesnt try to tell you when or how to end your lease. If you want to go to the end and pay that one last dollar thats great. If you want to rent the truck for a few years then trade it in for a new one, thats good too. A lot of our drivers are only leasing because they like having more control over how they run than most company drivers do. We choose how we run within certain common sense limits. For example I informed my DM this morning I will be taking a 34 when I get empty. I didnt ask. As long as we give advance notice so we dont get a preplan theres no issues.

Its a lease to buy contract and the problem is since the take over theres way to many issues picking up loads. Heck not counting the last 2 weekends the 4 weekends before that i kept getting double dispatched loads that caused me to have to sit all weekend until monday rolled around. My paycheck for those weeks was barely 800. Im trying to save up a bit of money so i can jump ship if i need to. The truck that i am driving is great though. I am trying to see if i can just buy it now instead of later. Interstate truck leasing is working with me on that end. Afterall interstate truck leasing owns the truck that i am driving.

You signed the lease and you don't know the consequences if you do not fulfill the obligations you agreed to? Seriously?

No wonder all these companies are so successful in making money off of drivers.

On these lease contracts I wonder just how much it is really costing the driver to do this. Per month , per week, per load or % of revenue.? It's got to be at least twice or more the amount a bank would charge based on what I have heard. Just asking.

It's called, "the cost of bad credit".

It doesn't take a financial strategist to advise you to finance through the dealer or a bank if you have the credit to do so.

Then fix your credit! And yourself! A person most likely doesn't get bad credit by being fiscally responsible. Yes things happen, but they are the exception. Lease drivers - you need to wake up and see what these leases are costing you. You are making a killing for the company you drive for while your own bank account suffers.

I don't recall asking your advice. I was answering a question. Keep your sermonizing to yourself.

That wasn't directed at you, but in general Stile. But, if you post in a forum, you're getting advice whether you want it or not. If the advice is good and the shoe fits....

... it wouldn't garner the response your previous post did.

    Good day, sir.
