Think about the registered owner of the truck and not yourself. No CDL means you aren't insured to drive the vehicle. Get in an accident and whoever owns the truck could lose everything in a lawsuit. Don't be stupid.

If you have the truck, why not schedule the pre trip and driving part with the DMV and be done?

    Or am I missing something?

You may very well LOOSE your PRIVILEAGE.....all together but, it is Best if You research that In the RULES AND REG'S BOOK. (Find the Letter of the Law.)

So you've scheduled your road test? Are there really that many people rushing out to get their cdl's right now?

Im guessing there's a however long wait the state says you have to wait from the time you get the permit to the time you can take the road test, I know south dakota has a wait time but I don't remember how long it was I think it was only a month or maybe two.

this is quite funny in a way. many years ago when i got my motorbike learners permit, we were all told that we HAD to be riding along with another biker that HAS a license.

well i didn't, and never got caught. i thought back then, all i'd have to tell the cop is that my buddy "took off an exit, and sped away".....

    well i never got caught.

i suppose you could tell the cop, your co-driver jumped out, or you thought he was in the bunk and you started driving.....

but i don't think that the cop would believe you.

best not to play around or take any chances in having ALL your driving PRIVILEGES REVOKED...

do not drive with out that CDL holder..!!!

it ain't no motorbike your driving....!!!!!!

Same thing that happens if you were a young boy in the 70's alone with a priest.

Won't work because the guy would have to also be on duty and riding jump seat.
