I hit the thanks button because you woke up and said never will you lease again.I'm sure there are good lease companies out there that do keep you rolling and some like this one because of your DM just don't care. It's not your DM going in the hole so why would he care.Next company you choose,do your homework on them first.Stay away from companies that pressure leasing.CRENGLAND is another one that stresses leasing and very successful at it.What the drivers are'nt aware of is it could take weeks to months before they get a company trk as to why so many lease with england.

Read the fine print in your lease agreement, i'm sure its spelled out. Call them and ask them.

Actually, theyve tried to put me on loads that are not possible. Most recent was (starting with a fresh 14) a 4pm pickup in NC 48 miles frm where I was, a second pickup about 54 miles away at 6pm, then a 453 mile drive for a 9am pickup in Alabama. In order to pull that off, you need to count on being loaded quickly at the first two stops, not hitting traffic, and factor in having to be able to park at the third pickup location to be loaded during your 10, because as soon as it was up, you had t run for Marietta, OK.

TransAm will do what they want, one way or another. They hit my husband with all kinds of charges, including the 1250 for "terminating the lease without notice" which is bogus. He DID submit a two week notice, because I was the one who composed it! It was our poor oversight to not take photos of everything. He also got screwed out of his Christmas bonus because they decided to say he had to be working the day that it was actually paid out. He quit a couple days after the settlement period the bonus would appear on closed. They make rules and then change them when it is in their better interests.

Anyways, I do agree that Jack G. is golden for being able to get a driver back on track. Real nice guy.

maybe I'm missing something here but isn't leasing the same as renting?

I mean you are obligated to pay for the use of the equipment whether or not it is used. Leasing is an up front payment to get the equipment by the leasing company and then they allow exclusive use of that equipment to the person who is using it. Rental is just short term, while a lease is long term with an agreed obligation. Rental of the equipment would have the same charges to maintain the equipment, not let someone use it for free.
