I don't know about the wanna be.. there is a bunch of dumps that thrived on the I40 reconstruction in the LR to Memphis area for years. Once that was stopped they went away.
There are still dumps but the bigger trailer kind these days.

What I was referring to, was just what I stated. Guys that think they're going to get rich by buying an old tractor, putting a dump bed and new paint job on it, and then trying to make it work financially. The majority of them around here don't do their homework before taking the leap, and they just can't make a living with it.

I drove for the federal government for almost 40 years , and I swear we got all your hand me downs . My last "new " truck was 6 years old.

I sold a Freightliner Century 10 years ago to a broker in Kansas City who was going all over the country buying up used trucks and shipping them to south America. Mine went to a company in Peru. Last I knew, old Greyhound buses were shipped to China, prior to that, Greyhounds were donated to churches across America.
