Desk jobs suck so bad, unless they pay me $200,000 which is not going to happen. At a $60,000 desk job, I would be vomiting everyday. No, I will be a trucker, I'm not going to overthink.
Thank you everyone

You’re not the first one on here that’s nervous about it. One thing that helped me when I was new is to realize that somebody is going to do it. Someone will haul that load if I don’t, and if I’m a good careful driver I may actually save a life that someone else in my shoes wouldn’t have been able to. It’s all about staying focused, but you have to be calm and relaxed too if that makes any sense. If you’re uptight that sure doesn’t work.

For a couple close to home to learn from.
I-5 - Chamber Way Overpass
I-5 bridge collapse: Canadian trucker hauling large load hit Washington bridge
both of these were over height loads. Both were avoidable...... Just don't be that guy. Know your equipment, check the truckers atlas, and watch the signs
The fact you are asking these questions leads me to believe you will be fine with some good coaching.Cattleman84 and Solo Soul Thank this. -

You are a professional driver or soon will be, you are held to a higher standard. This is going to be your livelihood. Don't let others dictate your mood or moves.
Situational awareness will keep you successful.
Hopefully you can go an entire career without killing anyone and maybe even without an accident.Solo Soul Thanks this. -
Don’t let others put their fears onto you. All that what if thinking is a waste of time. Too negative.
Solo Soul Thanks this.
