Wow, my contract was much simpler. I work for a small company only about 100 drivers. They encourage you to pay your truck off quickly. Lease is for two years but you can pay extra and I’ll have mine paid off in about 4 months from when I started. I just started having issues getting loads over the last few weeks that’s why I’m considering leaving sooner than I wanted to. I’ll make sure to pay that $1 payment as well.

how much payment do you have left? if its only a couple months then just tough it out if you can still make money. are you under dispatch or can you find your own loads?

I have about 2.5k left and I should be able to pay that next week. I have a dispatch and they’re super nice and I know they try but I know i could make more if they were better at finding loads.

Old…. 2012 Volvo VNL that’s how I’ve been able to pay it down so quickly. I’ve had some issues like any other truck but it runs solid.

ok you're wanting to break off your lease when you have 2.5k left to pay? you arent serious are you? once you get that title in your hand. you can litterally go work for whoever you want after that.

I take her question to be related to the logistics of transferring ownership, registration, plates, carrier, etc after she takes ownership, not breaking the lease. I think the lack of loads is a side issue.

that question has already been answered. when ownership of the truck is transferred. you can do whatever you want. since its your truck.

Well enjoy being your own boss with your own responsibilities,
your golden. Market may be a little slow atm so it may not be
malice that you are loads are slower, less .I would pay it off from
savings if I had them just to make sure there were no shenanigans
at the end, because trucks are hard to find and value has gone
up instead of down. Get the title transferred in to your name >
registration>insurance> plates. I think a lot of O/O's go with
Landstar and similar companies for loads. AFAIK maintenance
rainy day funds are a must at least $10k each to help in any
eventuality, lots of youtube o/o channels to go thru if you want.
    Congrats

I had a friend. They stopped giving him good work about 5 months before he would have owned the truck. He didn't get to buy it. They took it back saying it was the economy. Others have paid thier truck off and end up owning it. It depends on the integrity of the people your working with.
