I posted earlier a question on what would be a fair price for a broker to pay on a given load. I can now post more specifics as requested by @PPDCT. Peanuts. Portia AR to Colquitt GA. At the time loading was 7 days a week. Unload M-F. 7 to 4. 600 miles. Real rate was $67.50 or $70 depending on carrier. FSC about 20%. Asking for opinions as to a fair rate through a broker. I can reveal the rate after the opinions are in.

People say they want freight brokers regulated. The regulations would end up written by people who work for CHR, TQL, UPS, XPO, and a whole bunch of other massive companies whose names can be shortened to three letters. No doubt they would be figuring out how to put me out of business so that they could completely take over the spot market. I'm sure that would be a great world for independent truckers lol. No way they come for you next. No way at all.PPLC, 6wheeler, spyder7723 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I ignore those people. Anyone whining that brokers need to be regulated to work on a fixed rate are nothing but a bunch of whiny crybabies that failed at running a trucking business. Failures cry for socialist reforms because they can't handle free market enterprises.PPLC, rollin coal and Ruthless Thank this. -
Yep that's ineptitude. I think it's nuts anyone who thinks the spot market isn't free. $1 a mile 500 mile hauls are the proof in that the same as $6 a mile 500 mile hauls are. Sometimes there's a balance and sometimes there are extremes.
PPLC, boredsocial and spyder7723 Thank this. -
