BEST - I will say CRETE

WORST - I dont really have a worst, some of the bad companies have good and bad about them.... There only as bad as you imagine them. I know 2 Swift drivers who wouldnt drive for anyone else.

    DRIVE SAFE

Chemical Leaman and Bowevil Express were the two best.
Heartland and Star{Nashville} were the two worst.

Best was Wal Mart, by Far.......Great company except for the Health Insurance issue.

Worst was a small Fuel company called JP Noonan. Long hours, brutal work, heavy heavy loads, illegal logs, and lousy equipment. If you could work for them you could work for anyone.

That was just one of many trucks when I drove for them {mid 80's - mid 90's} When I first started it was in an 82 Mack R model, no sleeper, no power steering and no air. As the old saying goes, a 1 stack mack with a window in the back. Once I was trained on liquid I went to a cabover with bunk for most of the time I was there. I'm retired now but would go back in a minute if I were able. Those trucks weren't that bad once you got used to them. A lot of tanker co's ran Macks back then because they were the only ones that could stand up to the beating they took with surge. They had some Freightliners but they were allways in the shop. Liquid was hard on bushings and springs.

My best employer was Key Line Freight, owned by the Darling family of Grand Rapids. They were sold to Roadway.

My worst employer was Refrigerated Transport of Forest Park, GA. They were operating under bankruptcy rules when I worked there. It was difficult to cash a paycheck.

Just because a truck is a cabover it is automatically a P.O.S.? What an intelligent deduction that is.

My best "company" job was a small company in SD; Kron Trucking.

My worst "company" job was another small company in SD; AM&S Trucks.

I haven't been a company driver for a long time though, and had only a few company jobs. In my opinion, working for yourself is the only way to work.

Best = Century Granite Company Fun and challenges of driving where Truck are not meant to be. Good pay and lots of home time. Only left cause of Arthritis. Had to unload my self, which is one part I liked, just could not take the pain anymore.

Worst = Royal Label Group A small company who sent you out but never brought you back, no regular pay period, and almost cost me my life. then did not pay 1/2 of what was owed me. They make Swift, CRE and JB Hunt look like angels....
