is... what if I haven't logged 60/70 hours on-duty in a 7/8 consecutive day period. Am I still required to have a 34h reset or can I just start a new 7/8 day period without taking the reset? There's nothing in the literature that says anything about what to do if you wanna work every day...
So... if I want to work everyday, should I just have 59/69 hours after 7/8 consecutive days, then just restart my 7/8 days on the next day..?(thus not taking a day off)
What I don't understand about the new HOS regulations...

There is no such thing as restarting your 7/8 days without a 34 hour reset. The days keep rolling and evolving. You drop a day, pick up a day. That's why it's important to keep a recap to see how things are going. If you work steady days you can drive for weeks without a reset. What gets a driver is them short days that he doesn't do much and then is pushing his 70. Dropping a 4 hour day and picking up a 12 hour day doesn't get it. If you drop a 12 hour day you can work a 12 hour day. Capish?

Work 8.75 hrs a day and you can go until you die!!!! or the truck runs out of fuel......

And the one thing many drivers don't realize, you never HAVE TO take a 34 hour reset, it is entirely your choice.
Of course with the coming new rule modifications you can only do it once per week, which I can't understand why a 34 hour break is supposed to be refreshing one time but not another. It will also be interesting to figure out how accurate enforcement will to look at how long it has been between resets, and what those penalties will be in they think you were wrong. -
If I get two resets a week, I would find a new job. -
take 24 off and just continue to recap
8 days later take another 24
never reset till you want to
