I don't believe that's the full story. They don't terminate you for load refusal...if its the first time you refuse a load. You do get written up and put at the bottom of the list but they aren't going to have a wrecker come get a truck for that reason. Besides if he was in the truck solo then that means he was an LP and they are allowed to refuse loads

It could of been that he was out of hours. Years of go when I worked for werner when they were the only ones with electronic logs. I ran out of hours while waiting to get unloaded once, and my dbl stated that he may get a wrecker to tow my rig up to the nearest truck stop. After finding out that the nearest truck stop was only a couple of miles , they let me go ahead and drive there. So it could have been something like that. He could have been way over hos. . Yours truly, okieboy

Here's a question. Where was the driver? Was he there? Quite possibly he may have been arrested. That's happened before. I don't think a company, even the worst of the worst would just go and do this. It costs them a lot of $$$$ to get a truck towed. CRST had a pretty good reason to do this.

Had that happen to a friend of mine. Shut it down at a truck stop with a high value load and never answered his QC, they towed truck and trailer back to yard. just a thought.

    Whatever it was.....

Crst did not want him operating that truck. I seriously doubt they did it just to let him go. It had to be a serious for them to get a wrecker out. Anything else would be a route thru nearest terminal and a call to come visit operations once you get there. Im guessing a failed drug test.

Sadly, Paul Harvey isn't around to tell us the rest of the story anymore.

We're having lots reckless drivers out there not caring much about themselves or others out on the road. People are getting fired ALOT round here. We lost a driver last week due to reckless / careless driving. As in died. Happened on a US Highway. Don't know exactly where. Driver died. Co driver very injured. Crst is just cleaning house I think. Relentlessly.

No carrier will go to the expense of hiring a wrecker to hook onto one of their trucks that is driveable unless there is a very good reason. Carriers don't spend money on things such as a wrecker without a belief that it is in their best interest to do so. There is much more to this story than the driver conveyed.
