What if I don't pass schooling for CDL?

I am looking to get signed onto a trucking company who is able to provide schooling for my CDL. I can NOT afford paying for my own schooling which is why I was interested in company training. On that note, I was curious. If I were to get my CDL training through a trucking company and fail the schooling would I have to pay for that time?

Try to save up money and pay for trucking school... or get a Loan you can afford to pay back

The reason why I say this is because, if there's friction between you and the company ..... you cannot leave nor can you work for another company for a whole year.....

 

Will training from a technical school be just as good, and will you be as hireable without that contract carrot?

Do NOT plan on failing. It's seriously difficult to fail trucking school. There would literally have be something Special WRONG with you there Carl....

Do dishes for a fast food place like I did for a while. Save up a few thousand dollars within your 6 months. Maybe 9 at most working nights. It is a sacrifice. But to be Completely and utterly free of debt and a CLEAR CDL in your pocket at graduation really, really is a achievement and will be cherished by yourself.

 

Well i would agree that failing is prety hard... But when i went over 1/2 people that started with me did not finish. Some where gone by day 3 when pee test came back. And they just kept droping like flys from that point on.

 

All companies are here to make $$$$$ keep that in your head all the time no matter how nice they sweet talk you.Read the contract throughly. We cannot answer that as different companies have different policies. I know that when I signed for Cr England 2 years ago (PLEASE DONT GO FOR THIS COMPANY YOU'LL REGRET IT) if you failed a certain number of times and there’s no sign of improvement then they’ll terminate you. You wouldn’t have to pay for the school BUT you had to find your own way home. So if you were broke you were in a pretty bad place.

Learning how to drive a truck is one of the easiest things to do, so if you have any doubt, maybe look for something else to do.
