The only 579 i drove was that rental truck when i rolled mine. I remeber having a similar experience when trying to install the cb with many cuss words involved. Asking myself who was the tard that designed this ####??

You’re not alone. You have us. :)

And yes, to hurl insults at the eastern annex of California is plenty of reason to get your butt back in line. :biggrin_25523:

I would SO much rather have done it the old school way and drilled two holes in the bottom of the bulkhead and mounted it there.

Yeah thats how blue bird is, can install it and power it in under 30 seconds..i clearly remeber the 579 taking a good 30 minutes or more. Then of course i got it all mounted and put the plastic crap back together. Went to turn it on and no power. The jumper posts didnt work for some reason. So i got to take it all apart this time. i ended up just running 2 wires straight to the battery box, since i had to go back to the quarry and a radio is mandatory up there. It worked for the time being but it was the most hillbilly looking #### ive made before. Wires duct taped to the headliner and coming out the bottom of the door :biggrin_25523:

Right? Dumb engineers cant leave well enough alone, nothing wrong with the old school way. They have to make things so complicated
