Cotton farmer going broke.
Farmer in MS Delta was losing $ every year. Was In to see his banker. Just did not make it this year. Banker has an alternate. Seems like farmers in GA are making a killing in peanuts. He is sympathetic; has researched this and thinks this might be salvation for some of his clients.
Farmer says he has no peanut equipment. Banker will finance peanut equipment as add on to present and carry him another year. Farmer says: Well, I guess so.
Gets equipment; plants peanuts, has bumper crop and fantastic prices at selling.
In to see his banker. Banker heaps paise on him. “This is wonderful. You have reduced you loan by 72 percent. This is great and the way to go.” Farmer says, Well, I guess so.”
Plants peanuts, another bumper crop, and sells at even better prices than last year.
Back in to see banker. More praise. Banker is ecstatic. “You have cleared you loan and are 36K to the good.” What are you planning, going into next year?”
Farmer says; “Well; now that I’m clear; and have some money ahead, and having my old equipment, I think I’ll go back in cotton.”

 

Got up to about 22 today with sunshine and mud up to a tall Indian’s bumm — melted just enough of the top layer to be slime and will be a rink in the morning—some may say that’s cold, but it’s 38 degrees warmer than this time last week

2 weeks into things with my new outfit and I still love it. 3 days off this past week unfortunately cut into my pocket, but the company local manager made the safety call we were shutdown due to icy conditions in the area. Finally getting used to sleeping in my own bed, and even learning to cook.

 

Urea is made from ammonia. Both are fertilizers. Ammonia is around 3 times more expensive than normal. Natural gas is used to make ammonia, which is up 60 to 100% depending on which year you compare it too. China?? Well they want cheaper food prices so they aren't making as much DEF. Or maybe they are hating on Australia for suggesting what ever truth they don't want to own. Like it came from a lab. Russia also curtailed it's fertilizer exports a while back.

Crown royal is Canadian whiskey. It's like $25 a bottle.
