The Alaska forecast is for record -70 temps for the next week according to Chelsea (the weather girl I perv on on Weathernation) and it’s headed this way — the New Ice Age is coming

About forgot— haven’t been in a big truck for a little while and apparently didn’t remember that a flat bed trailer doesn’t quite follow where the tractor goes, especially in a snow bank— had to admit defeat and call for a pull out— extreme embarrassment, but as my old buddy Stormy would say — “That’s Truck’n”

Saw that and was aware. Kinda a tongue in cheek. No railroads, have to put up with them rackety loud trucks and them drivers.
But ya know, it is kinda hard to beat a trailer train. Leave Atlanta by 5 PM, 100 cars with two trailers each, 200 loads, driver can run 12 hours and a replacement be waiting; to go, avg 40 MPH, 480 miles a shift, (Avg out over no rush hour or crash closures), 2200 miles ATL-LA, take say 50 hours.
Give or take differences, that is 200 loads there upon arrival. I am not a RR leaner.
But. I thought J.B Hunt was a little ahead of the times when he sat down and dealt with them. He made some good money before others got on it.
Some sized loads, weights, odd configs, work on the train better.
Train can't back into the dock and you snatch you pallets off.
One tractor and driver can't pull 200 trailers.
Now steamships, they can't run 40 MPH on dry land, back in to unload either.
    So, it is trucks.

Got a Bridgestone steer at the T/A. Great tire. At least 70% tread. It’s a rare find. Well worth the $209. $290 out the door, including $12 disposal. Seems I’ve been in the right place at the right time all week long. Found a wad of cash laying on the ground yesterday.
