Back in the Long Ago Time when I was a warehouse receiver, we called them "YOU-piss".......

Back then FedEx was still Federal Express, and we referred to them as "Federal".

The LTL P&D men would show up in those Ford C-7000 daycabs....Yellow, NEMF, Preston, Roadway, CF, Overnite, Red Star, Con-Way.....probably a few more I've forgotten......oh, yeah, Purolator Courier and Burlington Air Express.

Please excuse the ramblings of an old-ish man. I went down a bit of a memory hole.

My DOT card should be ready tomorrow, FINALLY!

BTW, I am scrupulously avoiding any news outlets today.......

That first one to WV is just south of Wheeling. About 40 minutes from me. Probably going to Warren Oil warehouse. If anyone here takes that I’ll come pick you up and go to lunch. I’ll buy of course since you won’t make much on that load.

 

Meh. He’s only 2. And the rest of the crap out there isn’t much better. I’ll let him enjoy this nonsense for now. I wish the old Warner Brothers stuff was readily available. Looney Tunes and such. Kids these days don’t even know what an anvil is!! Or appreciate the supplies from Acme!!!!

 

One thing I love from the old days (mind you I’m only 40) is an old original LTL terminal. Love them!!! Had to pick up my new radiator from the local Dayton Freight. They still have an old one and there is a rundown one across the street. Now they are more modern and called service centers. F that. I want old school terminals!!!!
