There's good news and bad news....

The Iron Skillet in Glendale KY is open.....for me, that's the good news.

The bad news is, there's two REALLY LOUD truck drivers talking across the restaurant to each other.

The one-upmanship has gone from engines to trailer suspensions to deer rifles to bird loads.

I think one of 'em is leaving.....thank you Lord.

 

Now a guy who sounds like Boomhauer is joining in.......

 

Daggum dang man. I jus wanna talk about a daggum ol deer rifle man.

 

That happened back in the mid-90s at the TA in Duncan SC. I can still remember how cold that tea was that hit me. I was about 10 feet from the big mouth that got a full glass of tea thrown at him. They closed the restaurant for about 30 minutes after the Duncan Police got involved. I walked back to my truck and took a nap. Then walked back and re-placed my order.

 

Sounds alot like skiing. New gear is nice but lessons/drills make the skier. 10,000 hrs of perfect practice makes an expert. So they say.

 

Boomhauer quit talking, the loud(er) guy left, the loud fat guy is talking to the guy who just came in.

The new guy responded to the fat loud guy just to be polite, and now he's staying quiet in hopes the fat guy will get the hint and shut up.

Now the fat guy says, "I met Carlos Hathcock once".......

New Guy: "He was my instructor"......

Pass me my rubber boots.....PUH-LEEZE!

My waitress is a very perky young redhead, and we're messing (verbally) with each other. It's fun, and it drowns out the BS Twins.
