    The AR-15 is not an assault rife. It's a striped down semi-auto small bore varmint rifle. .223 has a 85g slug @ 3200 ft/sec. Yes I was a reloader as a child. :)

    Would not be Mom, now Grandparent, sure. Actually have a bunch of very old photos of some of the female relatives that look a lot like the picture. Most of them are from the late 1800, early 1900.

    That's just a smaller grain projectile. 223 like most weapons have a range of slugs and loads.
