Waterloo for the evening 72 degrees 10 mph breeze low humidity and the drone of several trucks idling. I’m not sure what is blooming but my sinus is running like an Olympic track star.

 

This self rationing gas (by price) might dictate turning the back part into a natural wildflower range.
I did that with the portion (across the ditch) on buying my last house with the big backyard feature.
Worked out well as wife accepted till I got some work done to get the rider across.

Brother and I bought a used .22 from the mgr at the co-op at our ages of about 9 and 11. Single shot, bolt action and I later read a book about a rifle supposed to have lands and grooves. Paid $10 of hard earned junk iron collection money we had done for the war effort. He also generously sold us (a few shells) for $2.00 more.We later learned could have bought a whole box of 50 for $.50 tax included.

But, in retrospect a good ##### while you are young is very beneficial:
Only having a "few" made us hell of good shots...
This set our benchmark for any future trading we did with others.
