The Mexican restaurant at that truckstop on GA74 in Fairburn GA makes their tortillas from scratch.....they are TAAAAAAA-STY!

Good luck finding a space to park so you can go eat, though.......

The truck has stopped for an indigenous 30, and an indigenous truck salad.

The OM was sleeping as a rhinoceros, but is now woke.

I showed up at a receiver that had a similar setup, except it was one door that opened outward, had stairs up to it, and a sign on it that said "Receiving Department".

    I opened the door.

There was a strip of CAUTION tape across the doorway, and when my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I saw the "floor" was 20 feet below the door. Nothing but a big dirt pit.

I walked down the stairs, and went to the door over by the dry van docks, and went in.

There it is, the "papered window".

I told 'em who I was, and what I was bringing.

While he was getting his papers together, I asked him, "How many truckers have you guys bagged with that trap?"

    He looked at me. "Huh?"

"I went to the door marked "Receiving Department".

"Oh!" He starts laughing. "None that I know of, unless night shift got one".

A guy who had come into the office in the middle of this exchange piped up, "Yeah, they really SHOULD move that sign. Or take it down. Or SOMETHING.".......

Does that apply to the entire zip code or just the town limits?

Nearly every town/city has a "city" or "school district" tax.

2.25% in my city. Little bit more or less in others, I think everybody's under 3%.

I think there might be some kind of offset deal with your property taxes, but I rent, so I don't know much about it.

I just write the city a check for $800 or so on tax day, and get on with my life.

I have skipped and have no regrets. Been a week since I got my steroid epidural for 2 pinched nerve clusters in my lumbar and pelvic spine. There's been some relief, but far from pain free.

On the work front still looking for something better since "home safe tonight" only applies to "distracted driving" and not equipment being safe/legal. I've had some other jobs pop up, but when I reviewed them or went for the interview saw they were no better than the guys I'm currently with. May be having to give up the home nightly and take something regional.
