I vaguely recall way back (Popular Mechanics/Mechanixs Illustrated) there was random ideas of Atomic Energy coming on as a tamed and directable source of power. A scenario was advanced that in a few years; we would have vehicles powered by a compact steam unit, heated by a "nuclear brick" that would provide power for many years. When it was depleted, you would drive to the nuke capable garage. Tech would come up in the haz/space gear, tong into the fire box, remove the old brick, stick in another,and off you go.

With no sarcasm or humor meant the EV propaganda is weirdly similar. Nuke disposal is still it's main problem, and actual generation of electric power to meet the demand needed.

 

And I forgot to mention that there is one more Squid in a very small universe that has earned his Air Warfare wings — AM3(AW) Junior Tramm01 has a very nice ring to it— we gonna have a celebration in October at elk camp
