The provisioning trip to the civilized has been fraught in peril and populated with idiots— immediate nourishment was required before the quest could continue

OF INTEREST MAYBE: Local employee of the Tupelo, MS airport stole a fully fueled King Air this morning and flew over Tupelo for several hours, conversing with 911; that he was going to float around here till he ran out of fuel, then crash it into the West Main Walmart located 2270 W. Main.
This was of particular interest to me; as my apartment is at 2800 W. Main St. For detail, Google 2270 and 2800 W. Main. I be at the blue tear drop representing Traceway Retirement Community.
However, he finally tired and flew away to near Ashland, MS and dropped it in a soybean field, intact.

Strange.. He was a mechanic - line man and had access, fueled it the night before. Has had some flight instruction, but not licensed. During the floating around earlier, the gendarmes had talked to him about bringing it back to the airport. Oops.... Told them he did not know how to land it...
So a friendly pilot agreed to guide him in and they talked down to 100 feet above the runway (coming in straight and smooth). He lost his nerve; goosed it, and flew northwest. Found this soybean field and set it down. Not known about landing gear, but appears intact on fuselage, no fire,
WTVA/WLOV.com will tell you all about. wtva.com | Live. Local. Late Breaking.

By the way. If I seem calm about this; I am in Lexington, KY visiting my daughters all this week. Will go home Saturday and get 1st hand.

Fortunately the water from that big aquifer in OH-HI-OH will save them.
