About this time of year I start spending an hour or 2 each Saturday morning bucking and moving it to the splitter. Then on Sunday I split and stack everything I bucked the day before.

I'm not too sure my neighbors like me much during this time of year... I'm certain they have been awakened by a screamming chainsaw at 0700 more than once. But they are good country folk that take it all in stride.

I used to spend my summer weekends going to the mountains for wood. Finally I wised up, and now I have it delivered by the semi load...

This was what I managed to get split and stacked for last winter...

I hope to get that much done again this year.

My brother in law doesn’t have any from this year split or stacked. I asked him why. He took me to the farm. His dads hired hand has huge stacks all over the place. So he is set for the winter.

It’s not just truck drivers that improperly dispose of piss bottles. I pulled these (3, 2 were in chip bags) out of my recycling can that I left on the curb for a few days after it was emptied. I’d bet good darn money it was the FedEx or Amazon delivery guy.

Truck is ready, just need to do one mod for optimal OM comfort.

Except looking out, I see I still need to do the chains.

Trailer also has flat off the rim. Road service is inbound.

The OM said well done, and has authorized a cold one.

Good news— mowing season is about over

Bad news— I wasn’t a good enough wrench to nurse the POS blue light Home Depot MF’ing Polan Pro special that I got bent over on 8 years ago through another season — gear box thoroughly and completely grenaded about 45 minutes ago— and there’s still a month or better of mowing season left
