You stated that you read 71 books a year so might I suggest you read Peter Zeihan’s “The Accidental Super Power” he has a chapter about Mexico and their relationship and limitations to the US specifically regarding their geography and geopolitical nature.

I think it’s all largely irrelevant. The original topic that sparked this debate was about legalizing cannabis. I think if the people of Texas wanted to legalize it, it would be legal. I see no problem with states determining what they want to legalize and what they want to restrict. Be it pot or be it abortion. If you don’t agree you don’t have to live there.
