Scalloped potatoes are baked in a cream sauce. Usually a 50/50 mix of milk and cream.
Au gratin potatoes are also baked, cheese is put between the layers of potatoes, with a little butter and cream added. Sort of like a potato lasagna.

I saw Mel Gibson’s movie “The Passion of the Christ”and was told it was quite historically accurate.

There’s also the Christian teaching of “Jesus sacrificed himself for us”.

I have a lot of trouble trying to reconcile those two things, because what I saw was a plain and simple murder of a man who only tried to do good in the world by an jealous, indignant mob. As I recall even Pilate was scratching his head wondering what crime Jesus committed to warrant that brutal political statement. What sane man would go through this willingly as some sort of divine plan?

I do know Christ told Peter," You are a rock. And upon you I will build My Church."

The crucifixion was a necessary part of God’s plan. Jesus being wholly God knew this, but also at the same time was fully man and didn’t want to be crucified. He even prayed and asked for this cup to pass him. Jesus allowed himself to be sacrificed for each and every one of our sins and even the sins of those that hung him there.

While Easter celebrates his resurrection, it’s Good Friday that actually brings salvation to those that believe he is who he claimed to be.

You are all grown and can make you own choices. I’m not here to preach, I am just another sinner saved by grace.
