Speaking of wild horses, allow me to share some from my sandbar. Not my images, but from a local place that does tours up there. We have t hem in Corolla, and down on Ocracoke. Both are at opposite ends of the sandbar. Corolla all the way to the north, and Ocracoke all the way south and a ferry ride.

Or you’ve done something stupid and found yourself on the side of mountain steeper than a goat’s face stuck in a bitter brush patch and can’t go forward anymore and have to get off and crawl underneath to grab them by the tail to back out — that extra bit of time might save a good tromping
