What if it Snows?

I'd have gone for the rhubarb and called it a night.

 

GPS has revolutionized farming. Ive run it myself and its is incredible!!! I'm talking planting, cutting, cultivating, fertilizing, or anything else with sub-1-inch accuracy. The fuel savings alone are HUGE!!!! Not to mention almost zero seed or fertilizer loss due to overlap.

 

I see you didnt forget the mustard though... That's all that matters anyway, but you could have used a little more of it.

 

Where does one find fresh rhubarb? I axed the produce lady at Walter world today and she said they never have it. Maybe a farmers market? I had a wild idea recently about making a rhubarb pie -

 

Ive never had good luck buying GOOD fresh rhubarb... But its pretty easy to grow your own if you can get a few bulbs from soneone who has it already.

 

We get ours in the back yard— find someone that will give you a starter— takes a couple years, but once it takes off you can’t kill it and you have to stay on top of it or it’ll take over — maybe try a local farmers market

 

Thats what I read, it takes awhile for it to produce. Mom said her grandmother grew the stuff.

 

Where I grew up in Iowa, the stuff was everywhere. That and asparagus.

 

We planted ours 3 years ago off a starter and this was the first batch of anything

 

Asparagus used to be almost like a weed around here... But then folks in power started frowning upon burning ditch banks and fence lines, so its not quite as common anymore. Asparagus requires a certain ph level in the soil to thrive, ashes help to create and maintain that ph level.
