    True, but we have plenty of feed until the snow gets deep, and then we feed locally grown hay (that my son provides in exchange for summer pasture, as two of the horses are his).

    Just hauled in 8 ton for Winter. Farm is 4 miles away. Next ##$%&_/; adventure.

    Our old harness leather all kinda aged all over. Not much to stitch back to. Saw some well to do folks buggy harness leather traces get cut back and resewed at the hook end till too short to use. Us po fokes trace chains lasted and could be shortened or lengthened easily. Used cotton rope for lines plowing or snaking logs, leather ones for the wagon. Work or Sunday dress lines....

    @Cattleman84 Some reference to buckling a saddle ???? All I recall in my 1945/my own horse to 1956/left farm we just tied the leather strap end of the girth to ring attached to the saddle. Infinite adjustment. Easier to reset after you kneed the horses blown up belly before mounting
    I cannot describe how, but could go out to horse and tie it still. Laid neat an flat.

    Just bought a 12 pound bag of Purina One for The OM.

    Our next adventure starts in about 12 hours. But it's not bs.

    Back to the sanctuary— gots to clean and oil the Dutch’s and then maybe put them up for sale— cook’n for a crowd has kinda lost its attraction
