I own it — did you guys know that when they built the first of the railroads— east to west— that the government gave them an easement of 100 miles on each side from the center line - and that in order to attract settlers, the railroad contracted carnival barkers to sell the land that was outside 50’ on each side of the center line— and that back at the turn of the century, the government paid surveyors to stake that land into sections and then into 80’s and then to 40’s and then into 20’s and then in the 30’s, peoples with money bought the 20’s up for $.25 an acre and then they passed it down in the family until some dumb F’er thought it would be a good deal to buy it outright for $5000.00 because he works for a liv’n and ain’t ask’n nobody for nuth’n??? Just thought you all would enjoy a history lesson

The law also provided that a company could be given up to twenty sections (a section is a square mile) of land for every mile of track put down. This land would be granted in alternate sections (a kind of checkerboard pattern) within an area lying forty miles on either side of the proposed right of way. To qualify for the subsidies a company had to agree to actually build track or forfeit the grant, and carry mail, government passengers, and freight at reduced rates.

The process to get a license is quite arduous. Plus, not sure if you could get one in the county, Depends on the population.

Bruh, that’s a sick truck sitting on those offsets.

Nope. I just want to take a large dump on his flatbed and scoot my butt on his seats like a dog.

If I was the manager, we’d have no business. I’d be in the lot just waiting for someone to do chain truckstop things so I could pounce on them.

I am back to hauling sand and everything is OK. During some of my downtime I also fixed some stuff on the truck, most importantly that pesky AC problem. The issue wasn’t any bad parts.

My fan ran nonstop since the engine rebuild. When I took it to Detroit this was something they fixed. I thought the fan cycled as it should after that but my brain is foggy so who knows. All I know is it wasn’t cycling anymore this spring. Nothing I replaced fixed the issue.

The Detroit shop installed a jumper between two wires coming from the EDM box. I assumed and trusted it was done for a reason. Maybe it was. I decided as a last ditch effort to remove the jumper and see what happens. Well WTF do you know, the fan started cycling properly.

I was mad and relieved at the same time. And once again, I have lost more trust in mechanics.
