Figure about $4k for a custom kit worse case scenario...... throw in another grand to install.
    Complete Kits - Vintage Air

Draw doesn't seem so bad on the heat pump style in my wife's EV.

FedEx is already rolling out 50 electric package truck in Canada and 150 to LA. Bright Drop is a division of GM. Made in Canada.
Pretty confident they will be able to add in ac since their current EVs have it.

And the hybrid mix... Air over hydraulic on the tractor and straight air on the trailer... Hang the M/cylinder inside the frame, hang on a pancake, lower the pedal to w/in 3 inches of the floorboard.
    Touch gently.

Oh, EV is coming and will be very well adapted in some situations. Has proven itself long ago as in elec golf carts vs IC units for factory admin and maintenance personnels use. Letourneau had a hybrid in turnapuls. Electronics can drive large machines...But the media heralding the great makeover to EV by 2035 has overlooked a large item.

Where are they going to get the volts. Oh, charging station replaces gas pump, larger wire size and more steel towers will bring it in, but the river's cannot be enlarged for more hydroelectric. Sun does not shine brightly as a constant, nor does the wind blow steadily in one direction 24/7. Nuclear? Not in my backyard.

Our present grid cannot deliver or the sources cannot produce enough now. It can be adapted/enlarged over a period of time to deliver. But this pie in the sky of all methods of ground transport being all electric is ludicrous. Kinda like the "pandemic..." appeared, media set it on fire, blazed brightly. But, some people never got it, some vaccinated did get it, kinda tapered off to no longer a national disaster in the media. This too will be a great media occurrence, and is being milked for all it is worth.

Trucks and tractors did replace the horses and mules. But the farmers and draymen did not run out and shoot the horses and mules until they had enough trucks and tractors to continue farming and trucking. Methinks the Global warning, Going Green, and clean fossil fuel exhausts are carrying us too fast.

Also beyond the lack of available power, they do not report on the advancements in Grid Power storage that have been happening.

Also the media fails to report that the citizens can keep running all the currently operating, in addition to the next 12 years of production, of Internal combustion vehicles and trade them around for as long as they find them practical. No sunset offered at this time.

Agreed the media and other "power players" are pushing too hard too fast. The media needs to shut up and stop fanning flames. The auto industry has bought into changing their products so that a portion of the fleets they produce will have no tail pipe emissions and that's enough for me. I could care less if they do it with electric or hydrogen fuel cells. What I would like is to see the manufactures do in this country what has been done in Asia. Sign up to put in some charge stations (or hydrogen stations if appropriate). Would like to see them start opening them in about 5 years and build them out over the following 10.

Tesla has been doing that and is profiting off of the charge stations. I would expect gross profits from charge stations to exceed the annual car sales profits in the near future especially since some of the other manufacturers are changing things up to be able to work with Tesla chargers. Going to be like printers, make very little with the printers, but make bank on the refill cartridges.

And yet you chose CAT's poorly designed EPA '07 engine model as your username?

I was working for a CAT dealer when they introduced the '07 EPA lineup....great idea in principle being able to start/stop the regen process and taking the EGR gasses from the back side of the DPF rather than before. Problem was too many variations in their combustion tube structures to fit all the OEM chassis/cab designs produced less than stellar results and they chose to bail rather than fight because truck engines were never a priority, the yellow iron was.

You don't depress me enough to earn that moniker......

Best you may hope for is Eeyore in my book. But I actually preferred Eeyore over the too sun shiny characters in that book.
