I moved here looking forward to 30 days and 30 nights of drizzle/rain scenarios. Recharges the aquifer.

A bit too swampy with some poison oak growing would be why I don't go down on the lower half acre.

Most of the flees get killed off outside during the winter. Ticks -- I don't have enough rotten stuff on the ground to protect them during winter.

All properties I looked at were viewed on the county GIS system to minimize flooding risks. Local GIS has maps for flood lines from Fema and the 2007 storm. Also has maps of wetlands and land that looks like it's been underwater before -- Hydric soils. Can't put a standard septic system where there is Hydric soil.
