Hope you ain’t packing an excavator with a thumb— if you are, better lock the doors and hide the keys cause from what I’m hearing that’s a priceless commodity

I know around here if you’re up in the hills with anything that’ll move dirt during fire season, pretty good bet that you’ll get Shanghai’d to the fire lines if #### goes sideways — gotta be the same type of thing down there

Monday I had my DOT physical.

Passed, got a one year card (CPAP).

Then, I went and took my road test. 8-speed manual, only scratched a couple times on the downshift.

Met with the TM, had a chat, all is well. Just waiting on the final go-code from HR. Tried calling said HR lady yesterday and today, got voice mail. Hopefully, she's just on vacation and not ghosting me. It's happened so often lately, I'm a little gun shy.

So anyway, I go back to the forklift place Tuesday to finish my last week. I get pulled into the office, and I am told that corporate said, "Don't do us any favors, kid. Your last day is TODAY".

I'm going to take a Uhaul up there tomorrow to get my tools.

Then me and Missus Skillet are gonna take a little road trip next week.

Supposed to start the new job Sept. 11th, as long as nothing gets effed up.

And if it does, my old boss has room for me to go back to hauling HFCS.

That's about all on my end.

The insufferable heat has abated for now, but temps will climb steadily over the next seven days until ugliness returns.....

Auction prices have been stupid. I bought a 2016 JD50G back in March or April. I gave 30 for it. I thought it was a good deal. I’m trying to get a deal with the state to rehabilitate the habitat of the hornyhead chub. No luck so far

I’ve had 50k sitting in the bank for 3 years thinking I could get into a truck/trailer, mini- ex/dump truck/trailer and can’t even come close— if it’s in any kind of shape and has anything under 7k hours, you didn’t do bad at all — if you don’t owe the bank, it don’t owe you anything— things will come around— maybe

It’s in good shape. But sitting right at 8,000 hours. I wanted to stay under 7 but I was willing to give a little because it had a cab with heat and air. I could have probably found an open ####pit with less hours for the same money

Around here a guy can clean up with a skidsteer and a drum mulcher. Think that’s what I’m going to do when I retire.
