For two weeks, that's it just so I can say I've done it but never permanently.

Do you have Truckerpath on your phone?
If not, do so and familiarize yourself with it before you leave.
    Happy trails, Rat

We are short drivers. How the hell do companies like swift and cre keep a line of people at the door wanting jobs? You will make twice as much here, work five days a week, and be home every night yet we can't seem to find enough drivers. Crazy stuff.

Once you get a taste of the freedom of OTR you may never go back to the local chaos... Fair warning. Happened to me that way.

I think it'll be neat but I can't leave my family, the money, I have a lot of hobbies that I won't give up (racing bikes twice a week, a race car I take down to Sebring like once a month, I play in a band). I think it will be a great experience tho.

Megas Will take anything with a pulse and a body temp over 90 degrees... Private fleets are more... Selective, yeah selective is a good way to put it.

Yes I'm an OTR company driver with a very good small company. I average about 12,500 to 13,000 miles a month but most of the summer (3 months in a row) I was getting 14,000+ miles a month. Once I pull out of the yard I RARELY hear from dispatch aside from pickup and delivery info via onboard comms.... I choose my my route to given destinations, I choose where I fuel (any PFJ), where I stop for breaks or to park. I get home every week. And I decide when I go back out again (as long as I Get 10,000+ miles a month). I run from the rockies to the mid west and back every week. Round trip averages out to about 3700 miles a week, but have ran as much as 4200 miles in 7 days.

Essentially once i leave the yard I am my own boss.
