Theres a "hobo" around my area that can be found on various busy street corners most any day of the week. Supposedly, if one has the time and patience to watch him from afar later in the evening they will find that he will walk a fe blocks to some out of the way parking area and get into a tricked out Escalade.

Back when I was working for a computer company of significant size in the silicon valley the local radio station interviewed a few panhandlers that worked one of the busier corners. There was a pack of about 8 of them. All would take shifts. One of the people said what their "about average" cash take was. Was about was my crew was making. Add in SSI/Disability and it would have been more than I was making.

Got a recording of that show from the radio station and took it to my boss and HR to rally for more money for my crew. It worked, we all got bumps in pay.

So ive owned a t100 pickup for almost exactly 10 years... I been slacking on doing a tune up. Well last week it developed a continuous misfire. So I'm pretty sure the coil pack that was band aided together finally took a crap.

Called around for parts yesterday... Quotes ranged from $140 to $420... And I wasnt confident that any of them knew what they were talking about. So after work today I went to a parts house and had them look up and show me everything I wanted (coil packs, wires, and plugs)... $200 out the door, which is nowhere near any of the quotes I got... 1 of which was from this exact same store. It is really frustrating that these places cant even hire folk who know at least a little about wrenching on vehicles.

My parts will all be ready and available tomorrow. So I guess I know what I'm doing for at least an hour or 2 this weekend.
