I have a ####ing severe ant problem. You can't sit outside without them eating you alive! Anyone got any tip or tricks on getting rid of them? I'm not worried about killing grass in the process because my yard is ugly anyway since it's all sugar sand here and you can't grow a nice yard.

Actually not a bad idea. The only thing I have on hand is VP 110 octane...I imagine that would work and it will smell better.

Simple green. It works real well. Areas like around the foundation and decks or patios spray it down at full strength at first. Get a good wet, then let it dry. After that, you can mix it 50/50 with water and spray the same area every day for a week. It will kill ants on contact, then keeps them away for a long time. Plus it’s biodegradable, so won’t damage soil.

Lemongrass oil is also a good bug repellent.

Mix 2 cups each of water and vinegar, heat to about 180 degrees, don’t boil. Add a shot of liquid dish soap and about 3/4 ounce of lemongrass oil. Stir to mix, don’t make suds. Cool off to room temp and spray area you want to protect.

My wife was putting some Sevin dust on some of her plants when she found a big fire ant next. She figured, what the heck and dump some Sevin dust all over the ant mound. Stired up the dirt with a stick and the next day the next was dead. Go figure.

You always have the good mixes. The one you have me for the wasps worked well. I haven't seen any coming or going from under the house. Thank you for that.
