We had a hill approximately a 8% for a mile.

People stuck left and right and here i am grinding my way up with a little 70's V8 car. I think it was about a foot that day. However the other car I had deliberately put on some hard compound michelin tires I think around 225 by 60 by 15's or so. Pretty wide without flaring the fenders or something stupid.

Lets just say those tires paid for themselves in several winter storms. And that was for a car. Never mind the semi truck which was also pretty good. (Understatement.)

I kept the 5th wheel where the front of the 5thwheel plate or your gladhands in a dry van would be up and down with the front edge of the first set of drives back there. It would be a touch forward of center. Maybe a hole or two at most. Not much movement needed for that.

This is the only one on my phone and I know it sucks. It lives under a truck on a lift lol. I'll take some better pictures this weekend, I gotta pull it out and clean it up anyways since winter is coming so I can actually drive it

Tires make a huge difference. I installed off road Yokohama drives on my truck a couple of winters ago. What a difference that made.

Last summer that also made a difference in me hooking to a customer's trailer in northern Oklahoma and successfully pulling it out through 200 yards of red mud. It took half an hour to do that 200 yards, but I made it. The next driver in an hour later didn't make it. Had to pay $1000 for a bulldozer operator to show up and yank him out. His drive tires were fine for snow and ice on the big road, but nowhere near the depth need to sling mud.

The last time I did offroad with the mixer I had a full set of what was called "Cross rib" which means they will bite to go forward or back. But horrible on any kind of curve in rain or snow because those tires had nothing on the tread for side to side.

FFE had Yokos up front for steers. Mich or Bridge on my drives and we did pretty much anything we needed to in winter with them provided there is a pavement under all that mess. Then again I always got 10 virgin tires put on the tractor at this time of the year anyway. So it's really possible to go barefoot.

Since Dave is ignoring my ###, thought that I would dedicate something to his recent new hire — to you Mr Otter

WTF Did I just see? I think I need to bleach my eye balls.

That dancing and their version of that song should be erased from all human memory.
