There was definitely something wrong. I doubt it was the tri pac itself's fault. They are good. Far too many have them running great all the time.
What if it Snows?

You only remember part. Not all.
There were some great things about that truck.
Rode beautiful. Sometimes forget it's a truck.
One was the winter kit in it. Worked great. I spent the Great Polar Vortex of 2019 in that truck, in Chicago. Had to high idle it at 30 below zero. But the winter kit worked with the idle and kept the fuel good. That and a double (suggested) treatment of PJ. That was on No.2 from the south. Yes, I remember telling about spending that day watching all kinds of Prime trucks breaking down at a Wallyworld DC...they and others were being towed out. My truck kept going.
I don't remember ever hiding that the electronics in the truck were cheap. Mitigation system would sound off with a cow in a field. Other dumb things. Goofy things the electronics would pull.Lepton1 Thanks this. -

Also Dave. It's just that the Prime trucks weren't set up for the cold. I worked for a company out of Fargo, ND. They know the cold. They have that winter kit. Also.... during that Polar Vortex. We had plenty of trucks down. Our shops were having fits. I honestly don't know if it was driver fault. Not following directions on PJ fuel treatment to make it double? Or what? But we had plenty of break downs. Not mine.
I'd suggest with your used Prime trucks without a winter kit. I'd just avoid deep cold. It's not set up for it.
I didn't have faith in my truck either. I parked at a truck stop that I had to pay. Checked with them if I could bring Polly inside if my truck broke down. They said ok. It would be an emergency situation. Animals allowed inside in an emergency.
EDIT: I also put double PJ in the reefer fuel tank. Worked.Last edited: Oct 1, 2019
